Some of the Best Things in Life are Free

Grandma & Grandpa came over to watch the kids over the weekend. They all went on a walk and came back with this adorable little bouquet for me! While some would call many of these flowers weeds, I'd have to say this is my favorite bouquet of flowers I've received in a long time. It's the little things like this that mean so much and remind us how great it is to be a mom. Next time you are on a walk, pick some flowers with your kiddo. It'll be an adventure and you'll have something adorable like this to show for it...for free!

Great Freebie to Keep your Kids Safe!

Protection One is offering these great fake tattoos that read "If I am lost, please call: XXX-XXX-XXXX" Pretty cool. I'm thinking these would be great to use when the kids go on field trips this summer or if you go to one of the big amusement parks... just an idea. It never hurts to be prepared!!!

Have You Heard of Kids Bowl Free???

Have you heard of KidsBowlFree.com??? We participated last year and it was GREAT! My son is just 3, so I was unsure how it would go, but it was a wonderful experience for him, a nice cheap activity for us to do together, and a great thing to do on rainy days or days it was just too hot to be outside!!!

Basically, you can enjoy two FREE games of bowling EVERY day this summer. You'll only have to pay for shoes, which run about $3 per child. Very inexpensive fun!

You can check out all of the participating bowling centers here. If there is one near you, then sign up! You'll register directly with that bowling center, meaning your daily coupons are valid at that location only!

You'll have the option for signing up for a Family Pass, which allows adult family members to join in the fun, too! Packages start at just $24.95 and include 2 FREE GAMES PER PERSON PER DAY! The pass covers up to 4 family members.

So, sign up, then receive your daily coupons each week, right in your email in-box. Just print them, clip them, and take them to your bowling center. And don't forget your camera! We had so much fun last year through this program and have lots of pics to prove it! We'll definitely be participating again this summer!

Free Call from Santa!!

I'm really excited about this one--Dillons (remember them?? My FAVE grocery store EVER--no longer in the KC area. How rude!!) is offering up a free phone call from Santa, Sammy the Snowman, or race car driver Tony Stewart! All you have to do is sign up here (or just sign in if you already have an account)...you do have to have a Dillons card to do this, or sign up for one, though. You can select your character, date and time for the call.

I set mine up for tomorrow for Jack and I'm excited to see his face when he gets a call from the big jolly man, himself!!

Feeling Crafty???

Okay, I have a cute craft in the works for a 12-days of Christmas countdown thingy (kinda like an advent calendar, but I'm only gonna do 12 days on this one. Anyway, I guess I better get on it...I'm a chronic procrastinator, so who knows how long it will take me to get done. I'll post pics when I get it done ( if it turns out ;D ). But here's a cute idea to tide you over. Not sure I'll make one of these this year...too many irons in the fire. But, I'll keep it in my back pocket for next year!!

Instructions here.

Another Fun Fall Craft

Hungry for another fun, cheap fall craft?? How 'bout a pinecone bird feeder?? For this project, I snagged 3 pinecones for free, compliments of the KC Zoo (found them lying on the ground near the parking lot and the light-bulb came on: project!!). We used curling ribbon (already had it on hand), peanut butter, (I have plenty of that in the stockpile!) and bird seed that I grabbed at Big Lots for about $3.

First, we tied the ribbon around the top of the pinecone so we could hang them on the tree when we were all done. Then we smeared PB all over each pinecone. Then, we rolled them around in a container full of bird seed, making sure to cover it completely and pat it on tight.

Then we tied them to the tree for the birds to enjoy! Jack had a blast doing this project and he has been excited to watch out the window to see if any birds have been enjoying his snack!!

Getting Crafty

Well, I meant to post this around Halloween, and totally forgot. While the craft really no longer pertains to the current holiday, maybe you can put a new spin on it to make your own special craft. I just wanted to post this to show you you can have tons of fun with the kids, let them use their imagination, and you don't need some fancy art set to do it.

For this project, I drew a simple "ghost" shape on the yellow paper, then cut it out. I discarded the inner part, just leaving the outline. I taped it to a sheet of black paper, making a template. We used white poster paint (check it out people...got it on clearance for SIX CENTS at CVS!!! I LOVE CVS!!!) and a cut up sponge (got the sponge for FREE at Target a while back. I hate them as actual cleaning tools--they totally suck for that purpose. But, they make great painting sponges!!).

I let my 3 year old "stamp" the white paint onto the paper, filling up the template to fill in the entire ghost. Once the template was removed and the paint dried, he used water colors to paint the ghost's face. Those are his little marks all over it...he then decided they didn't make a great face and he needed Mommy's help!) He had lots of fun making 3 of these--one for Mommy & Daddy, and one for each of his grandparents.

I just wanted to share so you could possibly enjoy this fun, free craft with your little ones, too!!!

More Toy Deals!!!

Okay, I was told by a friend that this Uno Moo! game is super cute. I've not yet seen it in the stores, and from researching it online, I've found that it's out of stock at both Toys 'R Us and Target online. BUT--KCPennyPinchin'Mama posted a Rocky the Robot truck deal at Mattel.com (something that's definitely on my Christmas list), so I checked it out and found that you can get the Uno game through Mattel for cheap with a coupon code, too!! So here's a recap of both deals available right now:

First, you gotta sign up/sign in at Shop at Home. If you aren't familiar with the site, check out my post here. Search for Mattel, and click "shop now," so that you'll earn 3% cash back on your purchase. This will take you directly to the Mattel site. Now on to the deals:

Rocky the Robot truck is priced at $59.99. Normall I would say this is no great deal since it is priced at Walmart right now for $49.99. BUT, the magic comes with the coupon code. Not to mention this toy ships FREE!!

Uno Moo! is another toy that ships FREE!!! This is priced at $20.99. (When searching online I found that Target has it priced the same, but is out of stock; Walmart has it for $19.88, and Toys 'R Us has it priced at just $14.99, but also out of stock). Anyway, the deal comes with the coupon code.

Use code MATTEL30 when you check out to get 30% off your total purchase!! So, shop around the site and see what else you need off your list that could possibly ship free too!! 30% off ain't bad!!! I was able to add Rocky and Uno Moo! to my cart for a grand total of $56.69 SHIPPED! And the best part is that I didn't even have to leave my house!! Who needs Santa's sleigh when you got UPS?!?

Oh--and don't forget the 3% cash back I'll earn from Shop At Home, an additional $1.70 savings. Nothing to sneeze at!
