I've always been skeptical of Coinstar, mainly because when they count your change, they take a cut (who wants that!!). But who knew you can cash in your coins for a gift card for NO fee! Plus, today through December 6th, they are offering a bonus $10 when you cash in $40 worth of change for a gift card. Here's what you do:
- Find a location...they are located in many retail and convenience stores (I most recently saw one at Walmart by Customer Service).
- Choose the "Cash in Coins" option, then "Free Coin Counting" button
- Select the retail store for your card
- Pour your coins in the tray
- The machine will vend your card right then and there. Plus, you should get a form at the end of your receipt to send in for your bonus $10. See all details here and here.
